Progressive Discipline & Tardies Plan:

Progressive Discipline

Students must show respect for themselves and others at all times. Any derogatory and inappropriate language or disrespect to other students, teachers, or any other person or group is completely unacceptable.

  1. The first time: Teacher Warning
    1. Student will be given a verbal warning in a brief private meeting outside the classroom.
  2. The second time: Student/Teacher Discussion
    1. Find a way to resolve the issue(s) at hand. The student will have the opportunity to present their side and any additional information pertaining specifically to issue(s) at hand.
    2. Create a plan of action to modify behavior.
  3. The third time: A phone call to the parent/guardian.
    1. Contact the student's parents or guardians over the phone and discuss the behavior and discuss a plan to resolve the issue(s).
    2. Student will be given lunch time detention.
  4. The fourth time: A phone call home, Dean and/or Counselor Referral.
    1. Contact the student's parents or guardians over the phone, discuss the behavior, and discuss a plan to resolve the issue.
    2. Student will be referred to a dean or counselor based on circumstance.
  5. The fifth time: A phone call home, Dean Referral and Parent-Teacher Conference.
    1. Contact student's parents or guardians over the phone, inform of behavior problem.
    2. Refer student to a dean or counselor based on circumstance.
    3. Request a parent-teacher conference.
  6. ** Documentation will be kept of all conversations.

Tardies

1st & 2nd tardy ‐ warning from teacher

3rd & 4th tardy ‐ phone call home by teacher and teacher-imposed consequence (log in IC ‐ Save NOT Submit)

5th & 6th tardy ‐ 2 days lunch detention from Dean's referral (Submit in IC)

7th tardy ‐ 1 day after school detention and Deans call home (Submit in IC)

8th tardy ‐ 2 days after school detention and parent/teacher/dean conference (Submit to IC)

**This progression is for each class; it is no longer accumulated by the week.
